Why it matters

With oil, moly and other lubricants, friction is inconsistent, so it takes several cycles of torquing, loosening and re-tightening a fastener to reach the right preload or stretch. This is called preload scatter. With the ARP Ultra Torque Lubricant, a fastener only needs to be torqued once to get within 5 percent of ideal preload.

The ARP Ultra Torque Lubricant stays consistent through later torque cycles, so the clamp load you set at assembly is the clamp load you get. That makes torque readings much more accurate on head studs, main studs and rod bolts.

How to use it

Apply a thin coat of the ARP Ultra Torque Lubricant to the threads and under the nut or bolt head, and to both sides of the washer, before torquing. ARP torque figures are based on its own lubricant, so use it whenever the instructions call for it.

A small 0.5 oz pot is enough for a typical stud or bolt kit.
