The ARP Honda M9 Rod Bolts kit uses ARP2000, a material with about 200% the fatigue life of 8740 chrome moly and a tensile strength of 220,000 psi, capable of more than 12,000 lbs clamping force. ARP developed these Wave-Loc bolts for the most severe uses.

Fitting

Rod bolts are fitted with the engine apart. Rod bolts are measured by stretch, so follow the kit instructions for the stretch or torque figure and use ARP Ultra-Torque lubricant. Rods often need resizing after new bolts are fitted, so have the big ends checked by an engine builder before fitting the ARP Honda M9 Rod Bolts kit.
