ACL Rod Bearings Honda B18C – Race Series 4B1925H-STD
The B18C has its own big end bearing, and this is it. The ACL Rod Bearings Honda B18C set, 4B1925H-STD, is the Race Series conrod bearing ACL lists for the B18C1, B18C2, B18C5 and B18C7. In Ireland and the UK the B18C is best known from the Integra Type R (DC2). Don’t confuse it with the 4B1946H used on the B16A and B18B. The B18C shell is narrower (17.5mm max length vs 19.5mm), so the two sets aren’t interchangeable. The set contains 8 identical half shells for all four rods.
Built for VTEC revs
A B18C spends a lot of its life near the rev limiter, and big end bearings take the brunt of that. ACL’s Race Series answers with:
- Hardened steel backs that support the lining and resist the shell moving in the rod eye.
- Reduced overlay thickness on rod shells, for better fatigue resistance under high load.
- Extra crush for retention and heat transfer into the conrod.
- Increased eccentricity that adapts to rod bore distortion at speed and helps build the oil film.
- No cosmetic tin flash. That’s why new Race Series shells look dark rather than silver. It’s a deliberate design feature, not a defect.
- Enlarged edge chamfers for crankshafts with large fillet radii.
4B1925H-STD specifications
- Size: STD (standard crank). Half type: identical halves.
- Material: tri-metal with hardened steel backs.
- Crank pin size: 44.976–45.00mm. Rod housing: 48mm.
- Max wall at crown: 1.502mm. Max overall length: 17.5mm.
ACL also makes 4B1925HX-STD (+0.025mm clearance) and a dowel-hole 4B1925HD for rods with a dowel location in the cap, plus 0.025mm and 0.25mm sizes for reground cranks. You can fine-tune clearance by mixing an HX-STD and an H-STD shell on one journal, which adds 0.0125mm. Measure everything before you commit.
Build the full B18C bottom end
Mains on the B18C use the same ACL 5M1959H main bearings as the B16A and K20. Finish the job with the ACL 1T1957 thrust washers, or pick everything from one page with the ACL bearing set for the Honda B18C. Browse the rest of the ACL Bearings range, or see the ACL Race Series catalogue for full application data.
