Description

This QSP touring quick release is a weld-on steering wheel quick release from QSP Products, the Dutch motorsport parts brand. It is made for 6-hole sports steering wheels, which QSP notes is the size most fabricators use, and it is fixed to the car by welding rather than bolting to a hub.

Weld-on or bolt-on?

There are two common ways to add a quick release. A bolt-on unit, such as the QSP quick release ball type, fits between a steering wheel hub (boss kit) and the wheel with no welding. A weld-on unit like this one is welded to the steering column itself, which is why it suits cars that are being built or caged by a fabricator. Welding on steering parts should only be done by someone qualified to do it.

Your wheel bolts to the quick release using its 6 holes. QSP’s own wheels use a 6-bolt, 70 mm pattern, for example the flat QSP leather steering wheel, the QSP suede steering wheel 90mm and the smaller QSP 2 spoke suede steering wheel.
