QSP Quick Release Hex (Universal)

Description

This QSP hex quick release is a weld-on steering wheel quick release from QSP Products, the Dutch motorsport parts brand. QSP lists it for uses such as autocross and speedway, and describes it as an easy way to take the steering wheel off quickly.

How it works

The two halves fit together on a hex shape, as the open and closed photos show. The steel part is welded to the steering column and the other part is mounted to the steering wheel, so taking the wheel off leaves only the welded part on the column. Because of the welding, this is a part for competition cars, and the welding should only be done by someone qualified to work on steering parts.

Fitting a 6-hole wheel

To mount a sports steering wheel with 6 holes on a 70 mm circle, such as QSP’s own wheels, use the QSP quick release adapter ring, which QSP makes for this hex quick release.
