Why fit locking wheel nuts

A locking set replaces one standard nut or bolt on each wheel with a patterned nut that needs a unique key to remove. It is a simple way to make wheels harder to take, and it is worth keeping the key in the glovebox so a tyre fitter can use it.

Fitting and torque

Match the thread size and seat type to your wheels, tighten by hand first and torque to the handbook figure. Avoid impact guns on locking nuts and keys, as they can damage the pattern.
