Hondabond Gasket Sealer is used where Honda specifies a liquid sealant, such as cam caps, sump and timing cover joints, valve cover half-moons and the corners where housings meet the block.

Where it fits in a rebuild

During an engine build, sealant is normally the last step before each cover goes on. Have the gaskets, new bolts and the workshop manual ready, check every face is clean, dry and flat, and work one joint at a time so nothing skins over before assembly. Allow full cure time before starting the engine.

How to use

Clean and degrease both faces fully before applying Hondabond Gasket Sealer. Apply a thin, even bead only where needed, assemble within the working time and let it cure before adding oil or coolant. Too much sealant can squeeze into oil passages.

Liquid sealants are not a replacement for a proper gasket where one is specified, so check the workshop manual for where sealant is used on your engine. Keep the cap on between uses, store the tube away from heat, and wipe the nozzle clean after each use.
