About Yellowstuff
Yellowstuff is the EBC high friction pad for fast street driving on modern saloons and hot hatches. It has a green fade threshold of 400°C, the temperature at which the resins fully cure, and that is the maximum expected in fast street use.
Street and track
The EBC Yellowstuff Impreza Rear set is made for the road first. EBC no longer recommends Yellowstuff for dedicated track use, because track temperatures can go above 500-600°C and the copper-free mix needs a longer bedding period. For track days EBC suggests Bluestuff or its RP and SR series pads.
Fitting
Fit the EBC Yellowstuff Impreza Rear set as an axle set, check the discs are within minimum thickness and free of deep ridges, and clean the caliper slides before fitting. The Brake-In coating speeds up bedding, but drive gently for the first period and avoid heavy stops so the EBC Yellowstuff Impreza Rear set beds in evenly.
New pads work best on new or skimmed discs, and EBC offers matching discs for most cars. Fresh brake fluid also helps keep the pedal firm.
