Fitting

To fit the DNJ D17 Valve Cover Gasket: Clean the valve cover groove and the head surface, fit the new gasket into the groove and replace the grommets under the cover bolts. Where the head has half-moon cut-outs or sharp corners, a small dab of sealant at those points helps. Tighten the cover bolts evenly and only to the specified torque; over-tightening squashes the gasket and causes leaks.

An oil-soaked spark plug well or oil on the exhaust side of the head is a common sign the valve cover gasket or plug tube seals need replacing. Compare the new part with the old one before fitting to confirm it matches.
