Materials and quality

The DNJ Cam Seal 29x43x8 is made by DNJ Engine Components. DNJ engine oil seals have a primary sealing lip, a metal case and a spring-loaded tensioner, with some designs adding a dust lip. The lip is made from nitrile rubber (NBR) or fluoroelastomer (FKM / Viton) for resistance to oil, heat and chemicals, and each seal is made to meet or exceed OEM quality standards.

Fitting

To fit the DNJ Cam Seal 29x43x8: remove the timing belt and cam pulley, carefully lever out the old seal without scoring the head or the cam, clean the housing, lightly oil the new seal lip and press it in squarely to the same depth. Refit the pulley and timing belt to the factory marks.

Good to know

Cam seals are often replaced at the same time as the timing belt, as a leaking cam seal will soak the belt in oil. Compare the new part with the old one before fitting to confirm it matches.
