Materials and quality

The DNJ VTEC Valve Stem Seals is made by DNJ Engine Components. Each set includes intake and exhaust valve seals for every cylinder. This set uses Viton seals, chosen for resistance to high temperature, oil degradation and chemicals, with a carbon or stainless steel outer shell and an integrated spring for consistent sealing.

Fitting

To fit the DNJ VTEC Valve Stem Seals: remove the valve springs with a suitable compressor (with the head off, or with air pressure in the cylinder if on the car), pull the old seals, lightly oil the new seals and press them squarely onto the guides with a seal installer. Refit the springs and retainers and check the collets are seated.

Good to know

Blue smoke on start-up or after long idling is a common sign of worn valve stem seals. Compare the new part with the old one before fitting to confirm it matches.
