Description

The D1 Quick Release Blue is a D1 Spec ball-lock steering wheel quick release in blue. It lets you take the steering wheel off in seconds and refit it just as quickly.

How it works

The D1 Quick Release Blue fits between the steering wheel adapter (boss kit) and the steering wheel. The ball-lock collar holds the wheel firmly on the spline and releases it when pulled, so the wheel is easy to put on and take off. Taking the wheel with you when you leave the car makes it much harder to steal, and it also makes getting in and out of a car with a fixed bucket seat and harness easier.

Fitting

The D1 Quick Release Blue mounts with 6 screws on the standard pattern used by almost every aftermarket steering wheel, and the horn connection and screws are in the box. You need a steering wheel adapter (boss kit) to suit your car. Because the unit is about 6cm thick, the steering wheel will sit closer to you, so check your seating position before fitting.

Make sure the horn works and the wheel is locked on securely before driving. If your car has a steering wheel airbag, it has to be removed and disabled correctly to fit an aftermarket wheel, so have that done by a qualified fitter.
