About the TA 96er23 Exhaust Tip
66mm inlet, 190mm length. This tip is a weld-on part, so it should be welded to the tailpipe by a competent fitter. Check the dimensions and pictures against your car before ordering.

Will the TA 96er23 Exhaust Tip fit my car?

If you are unsure whether it suits your car, get in touch with your car details and a photo of your exhaust.

How to measure for an exhaust tip
Measure the outside diameter of the tailpipe where the tip will sit, using a vernier caliper or a tape wrapped around the pipe. If you use a tape, divide the circumference by 3.14 to get the diameter.
The inlet of the tip needs to match or be slightly larger than the tailpipe so it can be clamped or welded securely. Then measure the space between the tailpipe and the bumper or valance opening. This tells you how large the outlet can be and how far the tip can stick out.
Choosing a style
Straight-cut tips sit square to the bumper for a clean look, while slant-cut tips are angled for a sportier profile. Pick the one that best matches the lines of your rear bumper.
Outlet size changes the look more than anything else. A larger outlet fills a bigger bumper cut-out, while a smaller one suits a standard bumper. Single, twin and quad layouts should follow the number of tailpipes and the shape of the rear bumper.
Clamp-on or weld-on fitting
Weld-on tips are welded directly to the tailpipe. This gives a permanent, secure joint but should be done by a competent fitter or exhaust centre.
Whichever method you use, make sure the tip is lined up square with the bumper and does not touch the bodywork. The exhaust moves on its rubber mounts when the engine is running.
Fitting and care for the TA 96er23 Exhaust Tip
Clean the end of the tailpipe before fitting, line the tip up and make sure it is secure. Re-check it once the exhaust has been through a few heat cycles.
This tip has a polished finish. Stainless steel resists corrosion well, but road salt and soot will still dull any finish if they are left on the surface. Clean the tip regularly with a dedicated metal or wheel cleaner and a soft cloth to remove soot and road grime and keep it looking its best.
Give the rest of your exhaust an upgrade
Finishing the job properly? Take a look at our Straightflow exhaust fittings range. It covers pipes, bends, flex pipes, connectors, clamps and other specialist exhaust fittings, so you can find the parts to build, tidy up or repair your system and bring the whole exhaust together with your new tip.
Frequently asked questions
Does an exhaust tip change performance? An exhaust tip is mainly a cosmetic upgrade for the visible end of the exhaust. Any change in sound is usually small and depends on your system.
Can I fit the TA 96er23 Exhaust Tip myself? Weld-on tips need welding equipment, so most owners have them fitted by an exhaust centre. Always let the exhaust cool fully before working on it.
What size do I need? Match the inlet to the outside diameter of your tailpipe, then choose an outlet size that suits the space in your rear bumper.
