What it does

The STRI Oil Pressure Sender screws into an oil pressure port and turns oil pressure into a resistance signal between 3 and 160 ohm, which the gauge reads across its 0-10 bar range.

When to replace it

Replace the STRI Oil Pressure Sender if your oil pressure gauge reads zero, sits at full scale or jumps around while the engine is healthy, after you have checked the wiring and earth. A damaged or leaking sender should be changed straight away.

Thread and adapters

The STRI Oil Pressure Sender has a 1/8in NPT thread. Many engines have a different thread at the oil pressure port, so an adapter or sandwich plate may be needed. Use a suitable thread sealant on the tapered NPT thread and do not overtighten it.

Fitting

Fit the sender with the engine cold and the ignition off. Make sure the sender body has a good earth through the engine block, or run a separate earth if an adapter or sealant isolates it. Start the engine and check for leaks before driving.
