NRG Race Short Steering Wheel Adapter Hub Datsun

Race short steering wheel SRK-R142H from NRG Innovations: NRG’s one-piece aluminium race-type steering hub for Datsun, for use with an NRG quick release.

It is a one-piece aluminium race-type hub that reduces weight and size down to the size of the column, and is around 1″ (25mm) shorter than NRG’s older style. It mounts to an NRG quick release, which is required and sold separately.

The race short hub is NRG’s one-piece aluminium race-type hub. It reduces weight and size down to the size of the steering column, and is around 1″ (25mm) shorter than NRG’s older style short hub, bringing the wheel closer to the dash.

Quick release required

There is no 6-hole wheel pattern on the race hub, so an NRG quick release must be fitted between the hub and the steering wheel. The quick release is required and sold separately, for example the NRG Gen 2.0 or Gen 2.5.

Each NRG hub is made to suit the steering column of the vehicles it is listed for, so choose by your make, model and year using the fitment list below. If you are fitting an NRG quick release for the first time, you will need both the hub for your car and the quick release itself.

Choosing and fitting the race short steering wheel

To choose the correct race short steering wheel, find your make, model and year in the fitment list, then check your steering column spline, as splines can vary. The race short steering wheel bolts to the steering column in place of the factory wheel, and an NRG quick release then fits to it, with your aftermarket wheel on the quick release. Before removing a factory wheel, disconnect the battery and follow the airbag safety steps for your vehicle, and have the work done by a competent fitter if you are unsure.
