About the plug
The NGK BKR7EIX-11 is part of the NGK Iridium IX range. NGK Iridium IX plugs are designed for the performance enthusiast. The fine wire iridium centre electrode gives a consistently stable spark and long life, and iridium has an extremely high melting point. The taper cut ground electrode improves ignitability.
Construction
The NGK BKR7EIX-11 has trivalent metal plating for anti-corrosion and anti-seizing, a pure alumina silicate ceramic insulator for strength and heat transfer, a copper core to help remove heat, corrugated ribs to prevent flashover and triple seals against leakage.
Heat range and gap
Heat range 7 on the NGK scale; a higher number is a colder plug. The NGK BKR7EIX-11 comes pre-gapped at 1.1mm. Check the gap against your engine or tuner’s specification before fitting, especially on a boosted or modified engine.
Fitting
Fit spark plugs with the engine cold. Thread them in by hand to avoid cross-threading, then tighten to the NGK torque figure: 18-21.6 lb-ft in an aluminium head. Do not use anti-seize on the plated thread unless your engine maker calls for it.
