What it does

Engines build up an oil and sludge mixture inside the intake tract because of crankcase pressure and incomplete combustion. Oil in the intake is normal, but over time it leaves carbon deposits that can reduce engine performance. A catch tank holds this oily by-product instead of letting it be drawn back in, which helps keep the intake, valve train and sensors cleaner, even under hard driving.

The D1 Catch Tank 2L 15mm sits in line with the crankcase breather. The surface is polished to a mirror finish. The visible level indicator shows when it needs emptying.

Fitting and care
