What it does

US-Racing says strut braces greatly reduce chassis twist and flex by tying the tops of the strut towers and other chassis points together, for sharper steering response and better handling. They are made from aluminium and steel alloys for light weight and rigidity.

A C-pillar bar works at the back of the shell, where hatchbacks have a large rear opening and less bracing than a saloon. Linking the two sides of the body there adds stiffness without much extra weight. It can be combined with lower and upper strut bars at the front and rear for a more complete chassis bracing setup. The silver aluminium finish is neat enough to leave on show in the cabin or boot area.
