MCG Autos deem LED Driving Bulbs Not NCT/DOE passable as they are LED Bulbs and are being fitted in halogen head light that has been designed for halogen light output. However we have had 100+ Customer’s confirming that they have passed with LED Driving bulbs fitted and so is customer’s decision if they want to test with LED’s in place or replace with halogen for test.

Unfortunately no book/listing is available to definitively tell us what car LED Driving Bulbs WILL & WILL NOT fit but cars that we Now know of that can be problematic are:

– Audi A4 B7 (warning light on dash)
– Seat Exeo (warning light on dash)
– BMW F10 (no suitable clip available yet for dips/heads)
– Opel Vivaro/Renault Traffic/Nissan Primastar
– Opel Astra H/J Generally Requires LED Cancellors
– VW Passat 05-11 Generally Requires LED Cancellors
– Ford Focus Mk3 11+ Generally Required LED Cancellors

Customer’s can buy for these cars at their own discretion/risk as have been noted as problematic cars in terms of LED compatability.

* Please note as bulbs are UNIVERSAL fitment the canbus is designed to suit as many cars as possible and is canbus in 98% of cars. In some exceptional cases LED bulbs may not be compatible and if so additional cancellors may be required at cost of €10 per pair but this is extremely rare that these are required. LED bulbs need to be fitted 1st to ensure Canbus Compatability as MCG Autos have no way of telling what car may need cancellors and so can be ordered at customers discretion. We do stress though that it is highly unlikely they will be required as are Totally Error-Free in Vast Majority of Cars in Ireland. LED Bulbs are an aftermarket Bulb and so operate diffently to halogen bulbs and so please refer to owners manual before ordering/fitting to confirm they are compatible as are fitted at owner’s own risk as LED bulbs are an after-market, lighting upgrade and not OEM halogen bulbs. Please contact your manufacturer to clarify car’s warranty compatbility with LED bulbs.
