Deep dish steering wheel NRG-RST-006BK from NRG Innovations: NRG’s classic racing steering wheel: 350mm in diameter and 75mm (3″) deep, trimmed in black leather.

Reinforced with 5mm thick spokes. The spokes are lightweight, reinforced and double riveted for extra strength.

Choosing and fitting the deep dish steering wheel

To fit the deep dish steering wheel, you need a quick release or a suitable short hub / boss kit for your vehicle, sold separately. Before removing a factory wheel, disconnect the battery and follow the airbag safety steps for your vehicle. A 350mm wheel with 75mm of dish brings the rim closer to the driver, so check the seating position and clearance to the dash and instruments before final fitting.

When choosing an aftermarket steering wheel, consider diameter, dish and grip. A smaller diameter gives a quicker feel with more effort at low speed, while a deeper dish brings the wheel closer for a more upright driving position. Leather gives a comfortable grip for daily use. Make sure the wheel suits the hub and quick release you plan to run, and check that the horn button fits correctly. After fitting, centre the wheel with the road wheels straight, test the horn and check that the wheel does not foul the indicator stalks or dash. Any change that affects the airbag should be considered carefully, as removing an airbag will affect safety and may affect insurance.

If you are building a full setup, choose the hub for your vehicle first, then the quick release, then the wheel, so every part is matched. Keep the factory wheel and parts safe in case you need to return the car to standard.
