Aerodynamic analysis was used to optimise the engine duct layout, improving heat dissipation efficiency. Wind flowing through the front grille is also utilised to generate downforce. Made from CFRP, it comes in approximately 3kg lighter than the OE bonnet. UV-resistant coating applied to prevent fading and deterioration.

Despite the family relationship, Mugen is not and has never been owned by Honda Motor Company; however, Mugen owner Hirotoshi Honda has been the biggest shareholder in Honda since his father’s death in 1991.
