Developed through aerodynamic analysis, the diffuser shape manages airflow from underneath the vehicle to increase downforce. An opening at the top releases trapped air from inside the rear bumper rearward, reducing drag in the process. Made from carbon fibre and designed specifically to work with the MUGEN sports exhaust system.

Despite the family relationship, Mugen is not and has never been owned by Honda Motor Company; however, Mugen owner Hirotoshi Honda has been the biggest shareholder in Honda since his father’s death in 1991.
